I’m Lucas. I love traveling around the world, flying my drone and taking photos/videos of precious moments. I am someone who is attracted to fun and excitement, seeking it out everywhere I go, venturing into parts unknown to do things that no one has ever done. To me, there is just no feeling as fulfilling as meeting new people, climbing high mountains or motorbiking around a country. I first got into the adventure lifestyle as a freshman in college, and it has followed me into adulthood.
Born in Vietnam as a city boy in Ho Chi Minh city, I immigrated to the United States in 2008. After joining a outdoor club in college called Adventure Club, I quickly realized that there was so much more of the world I had never even considered. I wanted to get going, to stop wasting time doing boring stuff, and to see all the world had to offer. My major was in geology, but I had no interest in following the standard rat race post-graduation. The 9-5 job simply had no place in my heart.
Intent on doing something different and laying claim to my life in a bold way, I became a digital nomad, earning my income from online entrepreneurship, travel blogging, and many other freelance jobs. It’s no easy walking in the park though. Sometimes I felt broke while my friends started getting stable corporate jobs. Sometimes I got so much pressure from my own family and friends ( you know Asians ) that I stressfully doubted myself. However, having my own purpose keeps me moving forward despite all the hardship. Now I get to live a sustainable lifestyle all over the world. I want to inspire others to reach out toward their own goals, and live the life they truly want to be. I enjoy sharing the details of my trips and beautiful footage taken with my drones and cameras. Those purposes gave birth to this blog “Get High Traveling”, high up in the sky, high in your mind and soul . Fluent in Vietnamese and English, I am also learning Chinese and Spanish at the moment.
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
